Week of 10/01 DIE Description Interpretation Evaluation

DIE. That is the most memorable aspect of the game. Although it was clear that we all struggled to find a connection with the other group I couldn't help but think to myself that it was just another game to highlight the importance of just being observant. It wasn't until our white board was filled with Evaluations rather than Descriptions I then realized the importance and underlying point of this game.
It has been almost a week and I have used the DIE concept several times already. One example is when this driver cut in front of me and sped down the highway like a maniac while I was driving. Usually I would curse under my breath and condemn the driver with a scowl but this time for some odd reason I remembered the word DIE. I decided to describe the situation instead rather than evaluate. This driver is driving really fast and cut me off and is speeding down the highway. Relieving myself of all the evaluation thoughts I started to interpret the situation instead. I came to a conclusion that maybe it was an emergency and maybe his loved one was in the hospital.
So every time I catch myself negatively evaluating a person or situation, I just think in my head DIE!
